For each unit of laminated, flat or curved, bullet resistant glass clad polycarbonate, Series Type ULN, Global Security Glazing warrants that for a period of one (1) year from the date of manufacture, to deliver without charge to the shipping point nearest the installation, a replacement for any lite which develops edge separation or other defects which materially obstruct vision through the glass. Certification of design supplied complies with ballistics test report provided during quotation process.
The warranty does not apply to glass, which has not been handled, installed or used in accordance with Global Security Glazing’s instructions; to glass used outside the continental United States; or to replacement glass beyond the period covering the original lite. Surface damage or scratches on either the glass or polycarbonate surface, as well, as glass breakage is not covered by this warranty.
EXTERIOR GLAZING INSTRUCTIONS:
- Do not expose edges of laminated glass to cleaners or solvents or prolonged contact with water or aqueous solutions.
- Laminated glass must be set on neoprene setting blocks located at the quarter points. FGMA Glazing Manual guidelines must be followed.
- Polysulfide, silicone, butyl rubber or polybutene base sealants may be used, but must be 100 percent solids (contain no solvents). Oil base putty should not be used.
- Apply sealants only between the face of the glass and the glazing stops. There must be a void between the edge of the glass and the glazing rabbet.
- The glazing system must be designed so building movements due to wind loads and thermal effects are not transferred to the glass.
- Setting blocks must be used and weep holes included when laminated glass is set in a lock-strip gasket.
- Total or partial covering of glass with paper or painted areas (signs, etc.) should be avoided. Such coverings act as heat traps and may contribute to glass failure due to thermal stresses caused by increased temperature of covered areas.
Other than the warranties set forth above, Global Security Glazing makes no other warranties or representations of any kind, express or implied as to the condition, description, fitness or a particular purpose, commercial viability, as to any other matter and such warranties supersede any oral or written warranties or representations made or implied by any of Global Security Glazing employees or representatives or Global Security Glazing brochures, manuals, literature or other materials. In all cases, buyer’s sole and exclusive remedy and Global Security Glazing’s sole obligation for any breach of the warranties contained herein shall be limited to the replacement of the defective Security Glass, F.O.B. shipping point, or a refund of the actual purchase price paid by buyer, as Global Security Glazing shall in its sole discretion determine.
